The Center for Advocacy, 预防, 和 Empowerment (角) at 基督教社会联盟 Dominguez Hills is a dedicated support resource offering confidential assistance to students, 工作人员, 和 faculty affected by interpersonal harm (unwanted sexual experiences, intimate partner harm, 和被人跟踪.) Our mission is to reduce potential barriers to academic, 专业, 和 personal success caused by interpersonal harm. 角 is committed to empowering informed decision-making, 加强安全, 和 fostering positive coping skills to improve overall well-being 和 campus connections through education 和 advocacy.
角 provides free support to 基督教社会联盟DH students, 工作人员, 和 faculty regardless of when or where the harm occurred.
How 角 can help:
- Confidential 和 Non-Judgmental Support: 角 provides a safe 和 confidential space for discussing matters related to interpersonal harm, such as unwanted sexual experiences, intimate relationship harm, 和被人跟踪.
- Information 和 Empowerment: We equip individuals with information about their rights, 选项, 和 resources to support them in making informed decisions that best suit their needs.
- Assistance with Reporting: 角 offers support 和 guidance with reporting sexual misconduct to the police 和 基督教社会联盟DH's Office of Equity 和 Inclusion (第九条.)
- 宣传: We assist individuals in obtaining reasonable housing, 就业, 和 academic relief to help them navigate the aftermath of interpersonal harm.
- 安全计划: 角 helps individuals create safety plans tailored to their specific situations 和 provides assistance, including accompaniments, in obtaining restraining orders.
- Consultation for 朋友, family, 和 campus 工作人员: 角 offers guidance 和 support to campus 工作人员, 朋友, 和 family members on best supporting someone who may have experienced interpersonal harm.
- Educational Programs: We conduct workshops 和 campaigns to raise awareness about interpersonal abuse, fostering a safer 和 more respectful campus community.
- 培训: We provide comprehensive training sessions for students, 工作人员, 和 faculty to improve overall response 和 underst和ing of interpersonal harm.
*角 Counselors maintain strict confidentiality as m和ated by California Evidence Code Sections 1035.2和1037.2 和 does not disclose information about individuals who use our services to external organizations or other campus departments
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-6:00 pm. (Weekend appointments are also available upon request.)
